Septmber 22, 1938 Davenport Times-Tribune

C. E. Perryman, Smith-Hughes instructor for boys, took his livestock judging team to Davenport for the county judging contest held at the Lincoln County and 4-H Club fair. They placed first with only three schools competing. On Saturday they went to Pullman where the competed with twenty-five other teams, placing eighth. Those on the team are: Alfred Lukaszeski, Marvin Evers, and Melvin Bilyeu with Ellwood Landt and Bill Anderson, alternates.

Septmber 14, 1938 Davenport Times-Tribune

C. E. Perryman took his Smith-Hughes livestock judging team to the Stevens county fair at Colville Saturday to enter the judging contests there. The team placed second with 14 teams competing and were only six points behind the winning team. Sam Remmers was the second high point individual and Ellwood Landt seventh. The other member of the team is Bill Paul. Alternates are Ross Edwards and Jack Fleming. Friday the team will go to Davenport the enter the contests at the Pomona Grange and 4-H Fair.

May 2, 1940 Davenport Times-Tribune

Ellwood Landt and Marvin Evers were sent from the Reardan chapter to the State F. F. A. convention at Pullman. Out of 102 schools, Reardan was one of four schools to get a certificate of "Good in Agriculture," in all divisions of the contest. Marvin Evers won superior certificates in Animal Husbandry and in Agronomy.

Reardan Commencement Program

Commencement exercises for the Reardan high school class of 33 members will be held next Wednesday, May 29, in the Reardan school auditorium. Ellwood Landt, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt, Sr., was inducted into the service on February 15. He writes his parents that he will be at Fort Douglas, Utah. He is a graduate of the Reardan high school.

March 11, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Private Ellwood Landt, who was recently inducted into the service, writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt that he has been transferred from Fort Douglas, Utah, to [Camp] Rucker, Ala., and assigned to a unit of the anti-aircraft of the coast artillery. He is a graduate of the Reardan high school.

April 22, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Private Ellwood Landt writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt, that his division has moved from Camp Rucker, Ala., to Camp Stewart, Ga., by convoy trucks. He is with a coast artillery anti-aircraft division. He is a graduate of Reardan high school.

May 13, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt had word from their son, Private Ellwood Landt, who is with the anti-aircraft coast artillery, that his address is in care of the postmaster, New York City.

Private Ellwood Landt writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt, that he has arrived at his destination overseas, but was unable to say where he was stationed.

August 19, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt received a telegram on Friday the 13th from their son, Ellwood Landt that he is back in the States after having been overseas for only a short time. He said he was hoping for a furlough soon.

September 2, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Private first class Ellwood Landt came Wednesday to spend a 30-day furlough with is parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt. Pfc. Landt has been in the British Isles and in North Africa and at the end of his furlough, he will report at the port of embarkation. He is with the coast artillery anti-aircraft division and has been in the service since last February. He is a graduate of the local high school.

September 16, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Private First Class Ellwood Landt left Wednesday to join his unit at an east coast port. He has been spending a three-week furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt. He has been serving overseas with the coast artillery anti-aircraft division of the army.

Pfc. Ellwood Landt has sent word to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt, that his is now in Africa and is back with his old company. Pfc. Landt was home on furlough a few weeks and is with the coast artillery

Pfc. Ellwood Landt writes home that he is recovering from an attack of malaria and yellow jaundice in a hospital in north Africa. Pfc. Landt is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt and is with the coast artillery anti-aircraft division. He has been in the army for nearly a year.

February 10, 1944 Davenport Times-Tribune

Pfc. L. Ellwood Landt writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt, that he has been released from the hospital in North Africa, and has been moved again. He has just recovered from a case of malaria. He is with the anti-aircraft coast artillery division.

Ellwood Landt, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt, writes his parents that he is still stationed in North Africa and has been promoted to the rank of corporal. He is with the coast artillery anti-aircraft division.

Pfc. Ellwood Landt writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Landt, that his has been transferred from North Africa. He is with an anti-aircraft branch of the coast artillery and has been stationed in North Africa for several months. He is a graduate of the local high school.

September 21, 1944 Davenport Times-Tribune

Pfc. Don Hein writes is parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Hein, that soon after his arrival in England, he saw Elwood Wendlandt, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Robinson, who is stationed there with the Seabees. Pfc. Hein is with a guard squadron.

January 25, 1945 Davenport Times-Tribune

Corporal Ellwood Landt, who is with the chemical battalion and was in Italy, is now in France. He entered the service two years ago and has spent all but three months overseas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt and is a graduate of the local high school. His brother, Marine Pfc. Verne Landt, is somewhere in the Pacific. He has been in the service a year.

March 29, 1945 Davenport Times-Tribune

Corporal Ellwood Landt, is with the chemical mortar battalion in France. He has been in the service nearly three years, all of which he has spent overseas, except the first 3 months. He served several months in Africa.`

Ellwood Landt arrived here from Germany July 13 to spend a 30-day furlough on the farm of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellwood Landt. He was recently promoted to sergeant. Sgt. Landt entered the service 2-1/2 years ago. He spent 20 months overseas. He was in the African campaign and later in Europe. He is with the chemical warfare service and will report to Fort Lewis at the end of this leave and from there will go to Fort Smith. Ark., for further training.

October 11, 1945 Davenport Times-Tribune

Sgt. Ellwood Landt, who is at Camp Chaffee, Neb. [Arkansas?], writes his parents he has been promoted to staff sergeant and that his unit has recently been awarded the presidential citation for the Battle at Colmar, France. He served with the 5th army in Italy, at Algiers and Iran in Africa and the 7th army in France and Germany.
