The Fat Stock judging team [of FFA] will compete in the Oaksdale contest Saturday, May 4th. Boys going to the contest will be Earl Hein, Ross Edwards, Quintin Landreth, Buster Goodman and Gene Rettkowski. [1941 buster graduates at Reardan, somehow is name is not on list...]

Pete Goodman received a telegram from his son, Buster, at Hollywood, Calif., that he had enlisted in the navy reserve. He was employed with the Douglas aircraft.

December 17, 1942 Davenport Times-Tribune

Pete Goodman received word that his son, Buster, who enlisted with the navy several weeks ago, is now stationed at San Diego, California.

Buster Goodman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Goodman, who enlisted in the navy in the fall, has been moved from San Diego, Calif., to Norman, Okla., where he is attending an aviation ordinance school.

Buster Goodman, petty officer third class, writes his parents, that he is in the south Pacific. Buster is with an aviation ordnance maintenance division of the navy, and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Goodman.

Sebastian "Buster" Goodman, aviation ordnance mate third class, is spending a 30-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Goodman of Spangle, and other relatives. He was born and reared in this community and is a graduate of the local high school. He was employed at the Douglas Aircraft plant in Long Beach, Calif., when he enlisted over 2 years ago. He has been in the Hawaiian islands for 17 months and this is his first leave since he went into the service.

Sebastian (Buster) Goodman, machinist mate third class, is attending the V-12 school at Alameda, Calif. He entered the service two years ago and spent over a year in the Hawaiian islands. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Goodman of Spangle.

Ordinance Maintenance Mate 3/c Sebastian "Buster" Goodman has his discharge from the navy after nearly four years service, two of which were in the Pacific. He is a graduate of the Reardan high school and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Goodman of Longview. He has been visiting his uncle, Merle Weipert, and aunt, Mrs. A. C. Patton.
