December 15, 1938 Davenport Times-Tribune

The Reardan high school basketball team accompanied by their coach George Anderson, and Hugo E. Schulz, attended the Eastern College of Education-Washington state college basketball game at Cheney Tuesday night. Boys that went were Quentin Landreth, Carl Koeller, Clarence Frounfelter, Ross Edwards, Bill Anderson, Billy Colville, Marvin Evers, Keith Denson, Pat Owens, Marvin Zwainz and Joe Mann.

September 14, 1939 Davenport Times-Tribune

C. E. Perryman took his Smith-Hughes livestock judging team to the Stevens county fair at Colville Saturday to enter the judging contests there. The team placed second with 14 teams competing and were only six points behind the winning team. Sam Remmers was the second high point individual and Ellwood Landt seventh. The other member of the team is Bill Paul. Alternates are Ross Edwards and Jack Fleming. Friday the team will go to Davenport the enter the contests at the Pomona Grange and 4-H Fair.

The new farm shop building will be ready for classes next week.

The Fat Stock judging team will compete in the Oaksdale contest Saturday, May 4th. Boys going to the contest will be Earl Hein, Ross Edwards, Quintin Landreth, Buster Goodman and Gene Rettkowski.

Ross's birth father, Ross R. Edwards died. Ross had lived in Reardan with the Baumans since he was 10 (1933).

Commencement exercises for the Reardan high school senior class were held Tuesday evening in the school auditorium there. Twenty-nine seniors received their diplomas. The commencement program was:

January 14, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Ross Edwards, who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman, was inducted into the army Monday, as also was Dick Ahrens, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Ahrens of Spokane. Ross graduated with the 1941 class of Reardan high school. Dick formerly lived in Reardan, His father was cashier of the Farmer's State bank for many years. They will report to Fort Douglas next week.

Marvin Evers, who was inducted into the army two weeks ago, writes from Fort Douglas, Utah, that Dick Ahrens, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Ahrens of Spokane, Ross Edwards and he have been placed in the same group.

Ross Edwards, foster son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman, who is in the U.S. army, was moved from Fort Douglas, UT to Sheppard's Field, Texas. He is a graduate of the Reardan high school and was a member of the basketball team.

Ross Edwards, foster son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman, writes he is now private first class and was transferred from Sheppard Field, Texas, to Gulfport Field, Miss., by troop transport. He is with a gunner's division of the army air corps. He graduated from the Reardan high school with the class of 1941.

Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bauman received word from Private First Class Ross Edwards that he has graduated from the air force training command at Gulfport, Miss., on August 9.

Private first class Ross Edwards writes Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman that he is now stationed at Las Vegas, Nev., where he is attending an advanced gunnery school. Pfc. Edwards has been stationed at Gulfport, Miss., for several months and is with the air force training command. He is a graduate of the local high school.

Sergeant Ross Edwards is spending his furlough with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman. Sgt. Edwards is stationed at Las Vegas, Nev., where he is attending an advanced gunnery school. He is with the air force training command and is training for a bombardier. Sgt. Edwards has been in the service since January and is a graduate of the local high school.

October 21, 1943 Davenport Times-Tribune

Sgt. Ross Edwards left Wednesday to report to Salt Lake City after spending a furlough here with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman. He is with the army air command.

Sergeant Ross Edwards writes Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman that he has been transferred from Boise Idaho, to Harvard, Neb. He is with the air corps and is an aerial gunner. He received his wings in October at Las Vegas, Nevada.

Technical Sergeant Ross Edwards arrived here Tuesday for a 30-day furlough with is parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman. Sgt. Edwards, an engineer gunner on a B-24 Liberator, was recently awarded an air medal and Oak Leaf cluster for meritorious achievement during air raids over enemy territory. He has been stationed with the 15th air force in Italy for the past six months. Sgt. Edwards entered the service 19 months ago and is a graduate of the local high school.

September 21, 1944 Davenport Times-Tribune

Tech. Sgt. Ross Edwards leaves Wednesday for Fort Lewis to report and from there will go to Atlantic City, N. J. for assignment. He has spent 40 days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman. Sgt. Edwards is and engineer-gunner on a B-25 and wears the air medal and oak leaf cluster. He was stationed in Italy with the 15th air force and has made 33 bombing missions over enemy territory.

November 2, 1944 Davenport Times-Tribune

Technical Sergeant Ross Edwards spent a three day pass with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman last week. He has been transferred from Lemoore Field, Calif., to the Walla Walla air base, where he will be an instructor in gunnery. Sgt. Edwards was an aerial gunner engineer on a B-24 Liberator and made 33 missions over enemy territory while based in Italy.

Tech. Sgt. Ross Edwards of Walla Walla air field and Staff Sgt. Charles Zanek from the same field, spent a three day pass last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman. Sgt. Zanek's home is in Comstock, Neb.

Staff Sergeant Ross Edwards spent three days here over the Christmas holiday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman. Sgt. Edwards is stationed at the air base at Walla Walla. He is a gunner on a bomber and recently returned from the Italian theater of operations.

Technical Sergeant Ross Edwards, who is stationed at Walla Walla air base, spent Monday with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Bauman. He is an instructor in aerial engineering. He was an engineer on a B-24 Liberator and completed 33 missions over Italy. He had as his guests Technical Sergeant Melvin Schrock, Technical Sergeant Rex Stanley and Staff Sergeant Charles Sprausse, all overseas veterans, and with the air base in Walla Walla.
