Max Mechlenburg was a farmer who lived between Davenport and Creston in the 1910s. He help finance Reuben Bower's airplane by purchasing the plane on October 6, 1911. This was the first airplane sale in Lincoln county and maybe Washington state. After Bower's death in 1912 Max continued to demonstrate the plane probably with sales and manufacturing in mind. Max also financed another flyer and plane builder Martin Denine.
