Mr. and Mrs. Hugo E. [Schulz] received word on Monday that their niece, Lt. Norma Smith, of the nurses corps, arrived in New York City the end of last week after being stationed in India for a few months. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Byran Smith of Wenatchee.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Schulz received word that their nephew Russell Smith, that he has been promoted to the rank of captain in the air corps in Hawaii. His sister Norma Smith, recently returned on a medical ship from North Africa with wounded men. She is stationed at Charleston, S. C., and has been promoted to the rank of first lieutenant with the army nurse corps. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. F. Byran Smith of Wenatchee.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugo E. Schulz received word this week from their niece, Lt. Norma Smith, that she was stationed aboard a hospital ship in the harbor of Naples, Italy. This is the third trip that Lt. Smith has made on such a ship. She also was in Africa and India. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Byram Smith of Wenatchee.

F. Byron Smith and daughter, Joan, of Wenatchee, spent Thursday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Schulz, Friday they and Mrs. Schulz went to Spokane to meet Lieutenant Norma Smith, with the army nurses corps, who flew to Spokane from Charleston, S. C. She is having a few days furlough which she is spending with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byran Smith. Lt. Smith is on the hospital ship St. Mihiel, and has made six trips across the Atlantic and two across the Pacific. She is Mr. Schulz's niece.

Lt. Norma F. Smith phoned her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Byron Smith at Wenatchee, that she had arrived in New York City on the hospital ship, St. Mihiel, with the first load of American boys released from German prisons. Lt. Smith is with the army nurses corps and is a former resident of Reardan. She has made several trips to Europe, assisting in bringing back wounded soldiers.
