Tom Hyslop of Reardan was captain and a member of the Washington state college rifle team that placed third in this year's national intercollegiate rifle matches. About 125 colleges and universities participated in this contest.

Tom Hyslop was called to the army air corps last week and left Friday for Lowry Field, Colorado. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. [V.] R. Hyslop and is a graduate of Washington State college.

First Lieutenant Tom Hyslop, a range officer for the army air force, visited his wife and two children and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Hyslop, last week. He and his family left Tuesday for Love Field, Dallas, Texas, where he is stationed. Lt. Hyslop is graduate of WSC and while there was an expert rifleman.

Captain and Mrs. Tom Hyslop and children came last week to spend a short furlough with his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. V. R. Hyslop, and her mother, Mrs. Herman Cornehl, at Bridgeport. Captain Hyslop has been in the service two years and is with the weapons detachment of the air transport command, Camp Luna, Las Vegas N. M.
