Carroll Krupke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Krupke, left Saturday morning for San Diego. He reported for the navy, but was picked up by the marines. He is a graduate of the local high school.

Pvt. Carroll Krupke left for San Diego, Calif., Sunday after spending a 10-day furlough here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eric Krupke. Pvt. Krupke joined the marines about two months ago. Upon reporting to his basic [training], he will enter sea school. He is a graduate of the local high school.

Carroll Krupke received his training at the marine corps base at San Diego and is now a marine guard on a heavy cruiser in the south Pacific.

Marine Private First Class Carroll Krupke has been sent to Camp Lejeune, S. C., for reassignment. He has just completed 10 months on the U.S.S. Baltimore in the West Pacific. He is a graduate of the Reardan high school and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Krupke.

Marine Private First Class Carroll Krupke arrived home last week by plane from Camp Lejeune, S. C., where he received his discharge September 17. He was in the service 15 months, 10 of which were spent in the Pacific. Before returning home, he visited his aunt, Mrs. Warren Guy, at Hatton Field, N. J., also visited Philadelphia, Washington, D. C., and New York City. While in New York, he went to the top of the Empire State Building. Carroll, being from near Spokane, was given complimentary tickets to an opera concert by Patrice Munsel. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Krupke.

Carroll Krupke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Krupke and a student at Eastern Washington College of Education at Cheney, placed first in the discus throw in the track meet at Central Washington College of Education at Ellensburg last week. Saturday, at the meet with the University of Montana at Cheney, he placed third.
