C. E. Perryman, Smith-Hughes instructor for boys, took his livestock judging team to Davenport for the county judging contest held at the Lincoln County and 4-H Club fair. They placed first with only three schools competing. On Saturday they went to Pullman where the competed with twenty-five other teams, placing eighth. Those on the team are: Alfred Lukaszeski, Marvin Evers, and Melvin Bilyeu with Ellwood Landt and Bill Anderson, alternates.

Reardan Boys Form Recreation ClubThe Reardan boys of high school age and up to age of 21 have organized a recreation club. They have rented and remodeled the hall adjoining the I. O. O. F. hall. The room is large and will accommodate a ping pong table, shuffle-board table, pool table, boxing ring, Chinese checkers and other games. Magazines and reading material will also be available.
The room will be open all evenings of the week except Sunday, and open during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Several Reardan men have volunteered to give their time to supervise while the club is open.
The boys wish to thank the people of Reardan and vicinity for their very liberal donations and labor, to help them equip the room. The members will assess themselves each month enough to pay their running expenses from now on.
Offers elected were: President: Marvin Evers; vice-president, Melvin Bilyeu and Carl Koeller; secretary-treasurer, Harl Barnard; advisor, C. E. Perryman.

Burton Barnard, Beth and Berne Barnard, Mrs. Grace Bilyeu, Bernice and Melvin Bilyeu dove to Lincoln and Detillion bridge Sunday to see the land cleared for the backwater of the Columbia river when the Coulee Dam is completed.

MONDOVI--Mrs. Harold Williams received word Friday that her brother, Melvin Bilyeu, had been seriously burned during an explosion at the war plant where he works in Seattle. He is expected to remain in the hospital for three Weeks.

Melvin Bilyeu, son of Mrs. C. G. MacDonald of Spokane, reported to Seattle for the navy and on Wednesday was went to Farragut for his basic training. He is a brother of Mrs. Harold Williams and is a graduate of the local high school. Mrs. Bilyeu and sons will reside in Spokane for the present.

Melvin Bilyeu, who has completed his boot training at Farragut, is spending a 15-day leave with his wife and sons, his mother, Mrs. Grace McDonald of Spokane, and sister, Mrs. Harold Williams.

Second Class Seaman Melvin Bilyeu writes his wife he has been sent to Jacksonville, Fla., for a 21 week course of electrical engineering. He receive his boot training at Farragut. He is a graduate of the Reardan high school and is the son of Mrs. Grace Campbell of Spokane.

Seaman first class Melvin Bilyeu was graduated from a 21-week course at an electrical school in Jacksonville, Fla., with a high average, giving him first choice in the Seattle draft. He expects to be assigned to the 13th naval district, which is the Northwest. Seaman Bilyeu was graduated from the Reardan high school and the Coyne electrical school in Chicago. His wife and sons live in Spokane. He is the son of Mrs. Grace McDonald of Spokane.

Aviation Electrician's Mate First Class Melvin Bilyeu passed through Spokane Friday evening on his way to Seattle. He had 30 minutes between trains. His wife, two sons, mother, Mrs. Grace MacDonald of Spokane, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Williams met him at the depot. His wife accompanied him to Seattle and will remain until he goes to his permanent location.
